Erasmus+ is the EU's programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. Its budget of €14.7 billion will provide opportunities for over 4 million Europeans to study, train gain experience, and volunteer abroad.
Eligible countries are divided into two groups,
Programme countries and Partners countries. Although Programme countries are
eligible for all actions of Erasmus+, Partner countries can only take part in
some.
The Erasmus+ programme is managed by: The European Commission,
The Education, Audiovisual, and
Culture Executive Agency (EACEA),
a series of National Agencies in Programme countries, a series of National Offices in some Partner countries.Erasmus+ programme has three key actions.
Key action one includes youth exchange projects, training courses for
youth leaders, EVS etc.
Youth exchanges allow groups of young people from different countries to
meet, live together and work on shared projects for short periods. It provides
them with the opportunity to learn something new, master new skills and offers
an ideal environment for personal development.
Key action two is cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good
practices such as strategic partnership.
Key action three provides grants for a wide variety of action aimed at stimulating
innovative policy development, policy dialogue and implementation such as
structured dialogue.
